Hi Elancers, We are looking for someone to help maintain and potentially develop a Cold Fusion application that was written 8 years ago under CF 4.5. We have migrated the site to Windows 2008 R2 server and Cold Fusion 9 and it is working well. The website has a back end of SQL server 2005 with stored proceedures, including user authentication and impersonation functions. The code is well written and modular (for the time it was written). Typical pages on the website typically call 10 or so cold fusion files/modules as there is a well structured heirachy of includes. Im sure things would be written differently nowdays and Im definately not looking for a rewrite at this stage. What I am specifically looking for is a experienced CF programmer to work closely with me initially to help me maintain the website. Further down the track, I would like to send through changes from the client and have you make those changes and do all testing themselves so its ready for the client. I will help you come up to speed on where things are and how it works and I would expect you to work with me initially via IM and voice and remote control untill you are up to speed. This would need to be during 8AM-9PM Sydney time initially for short periods. Initally the job would simply be maintenance with the potential for development and improvements if everthing goes to plan, including the clients budget. Initally there will be about 12 hours work per month for 3 months with this increasing. We are in Australia, so to start with we would need to work together sometimes between 8am and 9pm Sydney, Australian time for short periods. Later down the track, we would not need to overlap so much. Good documentation and communications skills are important. Initially (untill you come up to speed) I will require any changes to cold fusion files to be documented precisely. (The changes to files for the first 3 months or so will be minor in any case). I have a very small modification to the application required in the next 5 days. Its involving adding options to a dropdown but a little more complex than HTML or database changes I suspect. If this goes well, then one of the first tasks apart from coming up to speed with the project would be to establish a good development environment as currently there is only a basic text editor that we are using. We have a test copy of the website and database and the code as capability of changing to the test envionment, but we are not currently using that feature. We could then establish a good bug tracker, etc. However this will NOT be the first job. I want to work with you on this small job above before we go any further to make sure we can work together well. Unfortuantely for security reasons I can not send you the source code untill after the Job is awarded and we work together on this first small job. PLEASE INDICATE: 1. Details about your cold fusion experience and SQL stored proceedure experience. 2. Your prefered development environment (editors), how you track bugs, changes, versions, etc etc. Very intersted to hear your preferences if you have strong views here?
