Develop New Informational Website for Software Company
This site is a software information website. That is, the site will contain information about a particular type of software in the form of articles and white papers. It may also contain information about industry related events, as well as a vendor directory for this type of software. Job description: Need a web designer / developer with the following skills and availability: - Strong design skills to make a modern, attractive site. - Understanding of proper site architecture (SEO Friendly) - Capable of understanding written English instructions and thorough understanding of English with ability to plan and discuss site changes by phone and/or GoToMeeting. - Understanding of basic SEO concepts (on-page optimization) - Ability to react quickly to needed work, This site is needed soon and we cannot wait indefinitely for the work, or wait two weeks for basic changes. If your schedule does not allow quick turnaround, then this will not be the project / job for you. - An understanding of phpBB would be helpful as that is our forum software, but this could be learned. -Stock photography/graphics will be provided, but if you have basic graphic capabilities that is a huge plus. The site is likely to be 10-15 pages, plus the forum, which will be added to over time. Web development project type: New Website Client side or server side development: Both Specific programming languages desired: Basic scripts would likely be PHP. Definitely HTML, CSS, Javascript would be necessary. A CMS could be used - we are not opposed to this but we would need to investigate the ease-of-use, cost and SEO implications of any proposed tool. Desired website or component functionality: We will provide examples of similar sites if you put at least a placeholder bid in, and your portfolio is strong. Additional comments: Our main site also needs a long term designer/developer to maintain and update the site. We need not only strong site development skills and understanding of SEO (on-page optimization) but someone who is prompt, communicates well, and takes pride in their work. We are estimating 80 hours of work for the initial project (informational site) but this is open to discussion after we share more details and sample work. If you would like to manage our existing site long term please let us know your hourly rate and availability in terms of hours per week.
