We are looking for an energetic individual to join our client's Team of Software Developers that deliver and support advanced portfolio analysis applications to the Fixed Income Portfolio Managers. The Portfolio Managers use these applications to analyze financial metrics and make strategic investment decisions related to the portfolios they manage on behalf of retail and institutional clients. The applications use a variety of technologies including: .NET, Java, C++, Sybase / Oracle Stored procedures, and XML. Our future direction continues to be focused on .NET, Java, XML and Web Services. This position requires an individual with a strong background in the design and development of Java applications as well as some exposure to .NET Primary Responsibilities: Provide estimates; design, develop, and test code to meet application requirements Participate in systems design, working collaboratively with the team Resolve issues and/or identify approaches to solutions Comply with architectural and coding standards Be responsible for supporting implementation and post-installation testing Understand and follow approved project methodology for delivery of project efforts Collaborate with cross functional teams Experience, Skills, and Knowledge: 5-7+ years of professional software development experience Strong communication skills Strong analysis and design skills Ability to document and understand requirements and specifications Proficient in the design and development of Java applications Development experience with .NET and XML Development experience with Web Services Relational DB experience (Oracle and Sybase) Experience with source code control management tools, preferably ClearCase Experience working in the financial services industry, preferably Fixed Income A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
