Digital Advisor
This high profile organisation in the energy sector and based in the Kingston area, requires a Digital Advisor to contribute to the production of Digital Channels Strategy and Digital Operating Standards on a contract basis. The Digital Advisor helps interpret the Operating Standards and how best to exploit web technologies and techniques to better communicate online. The Digital Advisor will be a subject matter expert in at least two Operating Standards and must be comfortable training Communicators in both the use of systems and developing effective online communications. Specific requirements: • Support the digital community with web analytics by enhancing understanding and encourage uptake of Unica NetInsight technology. Provide adhoc dashboard reports and support the Group Communications team with analytics reports when required. A working knowledge of other web analytics tools would also be preferable, including Google Analytics and Adobe SiteCatalyst. • Demonstrate skills and knowledge of SharePoint 2007 and 2010 to a standard where you can support team members with creation and maintenance of SharePoint sites. • Company-wide Intranet and internet channel management - reducing impact to reputation through ensuring compliance with Operating standards; email spam blacklisting, privacy and data protection compliance. Working knowledge of Interwoven CMS would be preferable. • Understanding and advocacy of digital communications best practice: Stay up to date and ensure new developments in communications channels or Operating Standards are communicated to the global on-line community. It will also be necessary to train other members of the Communications team in these best practices and the platforms used to deliver them. Skills/Experience • Demonstrable experience within digital marketing or digital communications role either agency or client side. • The role requires an excellent knowledge of digital - in depth knowledge of SEO, Web Analytics, Usability and Accessibility are the essential areas. This knowledge must be practical and the applicant will need to show experience with at least one web analytics tool. • Experience of presenting complex, often technical information to a range of audiences (including non-digital personnel) will be needed. Good written and verbal communications skills are essential. • Experience of planning and executing substantial aspects of major projects/processes which includes resource co-ordination, progress tracking and achieving goals. • Solid understanding of web technology with a ability to create code HTML / CSS by hand and using editors such as DreamWeaver, edit basic JavaScript such as web analytics page tags and competently use image editing software. Development skills are not needed, but the ability to troubleshoot and edit code will be a distinct advantage. • Excellent analytic skills using Excel and/or Access coupled with a good understanding or interest in statistics is required for the role.
