Waste Treatment System Design Engineer
Radioactive Waste Treatment Expert. A proven track in radioactive waste treatment record and 15+ years experience in the design and development of waste treatment systems within the nuclear industry. Skills and Experience; • Chemical process engineer or equivalent with significant nuclear industry experience as well as extensive knowledge of all major waste treatment technologies for solid, liquid and gaseous waste. • Knowledge and experience of appropriate legislation and regulatory requirements such as determining the Best Available Technologies. • Knowledge and experience of up to date modelling and analysis techniques. • Ability to work as part of a team or as an individual, in order to negotiate, influence, and communicate effectively with regulators and internal/external customers at all levels. • A comprehensive understanding of waste management process development, design and selection, and an excellent awareness of regulatory and customer requirements. • Proven track record of working to nuclear design processes • Experience of proposal/bidding for large multi-discipline capital programmes would be advantageous Responsibilities will include: • Act as a recognised technical authority in nuclear waste treatment with the responsibility to further develop the corporate capability to meet future challenges. • Develop Waste Management principles, methods and procedures. • Input into the design and specification of radioactive and conventional waste treatment plants. • Detailed design and specification of components with input to procurement • Provide key inputs to design and safety reviews such as HAZOP studies. • Perform technical feasibility and optioneering studies using systematic multi-criteria analysis systems • Safety and environmental case support over the whole project lifecycle. • Develop and maintain corporate knowledge and networks • Identify, specify and commission R&D, verification, validation and similar activities with the aim of developing the business waste treatment capability. • Act as a mentor to junior staff and will take on the responsibilities of a consultant in the detailed design and analyses of waste treatment systems. • Support the delivery of key design documentation such as process flow sheets, optioneering reports, process description and P&IDs data sheets and specification. Location:- Warrington. 6 Month Contract - Full Time.
