Los Angeles Clippers History/Article - Sports Writing
We are looking for someone to write a history of the Los Angeles Clippers. The selected writer should write with a lively, humorous tone. The article would need to have the following sections: The Early Years in Buffalo (1,000 words) This section will discuss the franchise's early history in Buffalo, including the playoff years with MVP Bob McAdoo. Include information on the sale of the team as well as the changing of coaches and major players following the last playoff season. Struggles in San Diego (1,000 words) This section will discuss the team's move to San Diego, the changing of the team's name, their last winning season with World B. Free, and the addition of Bill Walton. Also mention Ralph Lawler beginning his career as the Clippers' announcer, as well as the purchase of the team by Donald Sterling. Struggles in Los Angeles (1,000 words) This section will discuss the team's move to Los Angeles, the Norm Nixon/Bill Walton years, and Elgin Baylor becoming the team's GM. Discuss injuries and season failures as well. The Danny Manning Years and Three Playoff Appearances (3,000 words) This section will cover the drafting of Danny Manning, the signing of coach Larry Brown, and their playoff appearances in the 92, 93, and 97 playoffs. Run & Gun Clippers with Odom and Brand (1,000 words) This section will discuss the drafting of Michael Olowokandi, as well as the acquisition of Corey Maggette, Elton brand, and the drafting of Lamar Odom, Darius Miles and Quentin Richardson. Cassell and Brand (2,000 words) This section will discuss the trade that brought Sam Cassell to the Clippers and their 2006 playoff success. Also discuss the drafting of Chris Kaman. Injuries, Collapse, and Baron (1,000 words) This section will discuss the injuries that derailed the winning Clippers team, as well as losing all of the key players from that season, especially Brand. This section should also cover the acquisition of Baron Davis, and the drafting of Deandre Jordan and Eric Gordon. Lob City (1,000 words) This section will discuss the drafting of Blake Griffin, the injury that derailed his first season, and his successful rookie year. The section should end with the Chris Paul trade, the players involved, the signing of Caron Butler and Chauncey Billups, and end with the most current information on Chauncey Billups' season-ending injury. Conclusion (100 words) A winning proposal will include samples attached (not PM'd or with links to where to find more) . You must be a native English speaker for this job.
