PREFERS consultants in and around IL The Analyst will carry out testing activities at the clients development projects and other systems projects including upgrades and failover tests. She will ensure that all deliverables are released to specs with the highest quality standards. The following qualities are essential: · IBM iSeries AS 400 experience · Ability to work concurrently on several projects, each with specific instructions that may differ from project to project · Independent self-starter · Excellent knowledge and experience with test planning, test execution, and test results analysis · Excellent communication and presentation skills · Excellent multi-tasking and trouble-shooting abilities · Expertise in writing SQL queries to perform back-end testing Minimum Qualifications: · Minimum 2 years of related experience, preferably in transportation industry · Well versed in all testing methodologies (white vs. black box test work, system vs. functional) · iSeries and Web knowledge as it relates to testing and documentation · MS Word, MS Excel, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint, SQL · Experience diagnosing, reporting, tracking, and resolving quality issues · Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment and ability to balance multiple projects while maintaining quality · Proven problem solving skills, strong written/ oral communication skills, strong influencing and negotiating skills necessary to drive project timelines Essential Job Functions: · Responsible for providing testing services for new applications, additions or modifications to existing applications, hardware/ infrastructure upgrades, hardware/ infrastructure failover simulations. This is done during regular business hours as well as after hours and on weekends when necessary to achieve project deadlines. · Work concurrently on several projects, each with specific instructions that may differ from project to project · Responsible for developing and executing, formal testing, and documentation services for the various Group products that span multiple platforms including iSeries and Web applications · Assist other resources or departments by leveraging expert application knowledge and ensure department standards are followed where applicable · Carry out testing related activities on various Group products. This will entail being responsible for following the project through the full test cycle until post-implementation monitoring is complete in compliance with department standards. · Develop and manage test plans, manual and automated test scripts for user interface, functionality, system, and ad-hoc testing · Execute regression tests, functional tests, and data tests · Designing of test cases for test plans · Identify, log, prioritize, communicate, and resolve issues with developers and/ or project managers. Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes. · Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems · Perform system testing at the time of installation to ensure system integrity · Keep current with al new functionality additions and changes · Develop or specify standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness · Document test procedures to ensure reusability and compliance with department standards
