Games Test Intergration Lead
Games Test Intergration Lead Reading Brook Street are currently working on behalf of our Global IT client / Global New Media Client to recruit a Games Test Intergration Lead. This will initially be on a 5 month contract for services. The Games Test Organisation is responsible for quality software engineering and testing across a range of AAA titles. We are crucial partners to game development teams, providing expert black box testing, automated testing and other technical approaches, data analysis and actionable reports. We are looking for professional test engineers and expert game testers to help ship AAA games and work on cutting edge entertainment software. This role will be instrumental in optimising testing by defining process and driving improvement initiatives within our core test team and the overall tester department. Developing first class documentation is key, ensuring understanding of processes and future proofing for projects is part of the success criteria. A key element to this role will be to coordinate and communicate the process and improvements to build awareness and understanding throughout the department. Core activities to the role will include - * Collaborative definition and improving of standards, processes and communication (wiki/SharePoint). * Developing principles to drive best practice across the team and ensuring process and sharing delivers value. * Provide expert black box testing, automated testing and other technical approaches, data analysis and actionable reports. * Defining and implementing a programme of training for testers. The ideal candidate will fall into one of two categories: an experienced tester/lead with a deep passion for computer/console games and the imagination to apply key test methodologies to the unique challenges of game development; or an expert game tester with a professional attitude, leadership qualities and specialised skills. In either case, 3+ years work-related exposure is required. Candidates must have demonstrated success in coordinating the test effort for one or more software projects, as well as testing software products and contributing to their quality standards. Knowledge of software testing standards, methods and conventions, and the product development cycle required. Exposure with specialised and technical testing highly preferred. Examples include security, network protocols (TCP/IP),, multiplayer features, stress or performance testing. Ability to read code (e.g. C#, C++) and perform white-box testing is an advantage though not required. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, solid communication and proven management skills are essential Salary: £29,000 - 33,000.
