Candidates Required: 7, Contract Specialization: Software Development Candidate Required: Intermediate .Net and Java Public Sector Programmer Analyst Skill Level: Intermediate Job Description: Our Ottawa-based Public Sector client requires a team of seven (7) programmer analysts to build new computer software and applications. This contract is slated to start April 1, 2012 and anticipated to be 2 years in length. BACKGROUND Programs administered by our client are undergoing significant changes. New regulatory requirements and the need to deliver the programs more efficiently means that the current software and database infrastructure has to be upgraded and new IT tools need to be developed. RESPONSIBILITY This work involves documenting system and functional requirements, developing and proposing high level designs, validating the design with team members, prototyping, developing and modifying software along with unit testing software code. Other tasks include: • Document client, program delivery and system requirements • Translate requirements into high level designs and specifications • Adhere to the selected design architecture • Analyse and recommend alternatives and options • Develop detailed technical specifications (programs, flow charts, and diagrams) • Confer with infrastructure team clients and other development team members • Select and incorporate 3rd party software and solutions as appropriate • Develop/modify, document, implement, test and maintain methods, procedures, interfaces, reports • Develop and implement automated testing systems and interfaces • Modify the design and implementation of the system as necessary to correct deficiencies and program errors REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE In order to qualify for one of these roles you MUST the following experience: - 5+ years as a Programmer Analyst or Web Developer - 5+ years developing web applications with Java - 5+ years developing web applications using ASP.NET and C# in a .NET framework - 5+ years developing web site projects under the GoC Common Look and Feel 2.0 (CLF 2.0) standard - 5+ years developing applications implementing XML, including XSLT, XSD and XPATH - 3+ years developing projects implementing Service Oriented Architecture and Web Services - 3+ years integrating optical character recognition technology into custom-built applications - 3+ years developing web-based exams or testing applications - 3+ years developing web applications with Cascading Style Sheets - An undergraduate degree or a college diploma in engineering, applied science, computer science or web development - Active Enhanced Security clearance or greater If you meet the minimum requirements, please apply online today.
