Service Support Technician
Service Support Technician DVDXpress, a leader in Automated DVD Kiosk Rentals, is seeking a customer focused, high-energy individual to support our customer service team and remote service technicians. This person will work closely with our Director of Operations. The successful candidate must have a thorough appreciation for Technical Support Roles, the ability to seek out solutions in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision while maintaining a passion for customer service. Current position hours available are work-from-home night-shift schedule from 4pm-midnight ET with in-warehouse training and support on as-needed weekly basis. RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor both Executive and SLA Dashboard Metrics for Problem DVD Rental Kiosks Respond to Kiosk Alert Emails Troubleshoot kiosk errors via remote access software Call kiosk locations to verify all necessary repair components are onsite (keys, parts, etc.) Open Repair Tickets for Remote Service Technicians Dispatch Technicians to Kiosk Sites Patiently manage and guide remote field technician service work via phone Update Administrative Ticketing system with problem descriptions and repair status Maintain strong working knowledge of kiosk hardware and basic software setup Receive incoming kiosk shipments and prepare kiosks for field deployment Verify and test broken RMA parts returned from field work Maintain regular communication with Customer Service, Operations, and Technology Departments. REQUIREMENTS: Excellent problem solving skills Excellent phone support skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong and Positive Daily Work Ethic (infectious for the entire service organization) Must be detail oriented and well organized Ability to maintain patience and focus under pressure deadlines Able to handle and prioritize multiple concurrent priorities Flexible work schedule available to cover rotating Daily, Nightly, and Weekend network support Available for periodic 24/7 on-call holiday duty (as primary and backup) SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Must have basic mechanical, electrical, and hardware/software knowledge skills Prior experience as a field service technician a strong plus Prior experience performing electronics parts repair and troubleshooting a strong plus Knowledge and Troubleshooting of PC Hardware and Software platforms a strong plus Experience in a software production support environment (on-call operations) a plus Knowledge of embedded systems design a plus A ‘Can-do, Jack of all Trades’ Attitude a MUST!
