Admin assistant with experience in graphics and publishing
I am drowning in work and am looking for a virtual admin assistant to help me with my education business. Requirements: 1) Very intelligent and resourceful. I am in higher education and tend to work best with smart and effective communicators who can think on their feet and do not need a lot of direction. 2) Excellent multitasking skills. I am a monotasker who gets stressed with multiple jobs. You will manage the load for me. 3) Can coordinate different projects (sometimes with other service providers) and keep them moving. 4) Can keep track of deadlines and meet them (even when it means working into the night). 5) Skilled at finding other Elance providers to take on roles that he/she cannot do. I need you as a coordinator. Whenever you see a task that requires another professional, you'll need to help find them and then coordinate their work. 6) Lives in North America and is available on demand. I live on the West coast and find it difficult to work with people overseas due to time differences. 7) Takes initiative and does not wait for me to answer every little question. The more we work together, the better you'll know my operation and my expectations. 8) Can be available to work daily (I estimate 60 hours a month or more). 9) Has excellent writing skills. 10) Has a good manner when speaking to people on the phone. 11) Helpful and good natured. It's fun to work with supportive people and not fun to work with people who complain. Some of the projects that this assistant will handle: 1) Keeping track of my schedule and taking jobs off my hands. 2) Coordinating some big long-term projects: - Company website design and maintenance. - Creation of a series of mathematics textbooks for elementary school children. - Creation of print publicity materials - posters, trade-show displays, coupons. - Social media presence. It would be great if the assistant has background in graphics design (to be able to produce some easy graphics and to give feedback to other graphic design contractors). It would be great if the assistant has background in publishing textbooks so that he/she has insights into managing such projects. It would be great if the assistant has experience in social media. I know it's a long list of requirements, but I trust that this person is somewhere on Elance looking for a long term working relationship with many hours of work. This position can expand to become permanent part time or even full time in the future. It all depends on how well we click. I need someone who can relieve me from a lot of my work (I haven't had a vacation in several years) and does not require an awful lot of detailed direction (of course, there'll be a lot more direction in the period when you get to know the operation.) Starting at around $13-15/hr, I'll be generous with bonuses if you succeed to make my life easier. I am looking to conduct interviews on skype, so please have this technology ready if you want to be considered for the job. Skype is my preferred mode of daily communication other than email.
