Duration: 6 Months Contract Location: Columbus, OH/ Zip Code: 43085 Compensation: Depend on Experience Role: Hyperion Essbase Developer Role Description: The Hyperion Essbase Developer would need to have at least 6 years of experience. Must Haves: • Strong demonstrated experience in Hyperion Essbase 9. • Proven experience writing SQL Queries (5/6 regarding skill strength) from a command line perspective and interacting with Oracle/ Data Warehouse. • Experience writing maxl and Windows Scripts (start-up and shutdown Hyperion Essbase DB). Nice to Haves: • Banking and Mortgage experience. Responsibilities: • Some Essbase development will be working with business users to develop from scratch, and some will be cube and application support. • Monitoring after hour processes to ensure Essbase applications have kicked off properly. • Working with other developers on the team to support and maintain new implementation of Hyperion Essbase. • Working with Business Analysts to design and develop technical solutions to new business problems. • Writing technical documents for ongoing projects and cubes maintenance. • Creating prototypes and cubes in short span of time. • Troubles-shooting production issues in Essbase with quick turnaround times. Basic Qualifications to be considered for this role, Candidates must have the following experience and skills: • Must be able to demonstrate strong proficiency in all aspects of an Essbase solution design, development and deployment. • Must have demonstrated success with writing Business Rules/ Calc Scripts, evaluating data hierarchies and reporting structures, providing alternatives and recommendations based on best practices and application functionality. • Responsible for streamlining the processes and enhancing performance, developing back-up and recovery procedures and data archive/purge procedures. • Creates supporting technical documentation. • Selected candidate will be required to adhere to production support processes and implementation change management procedures. • Must be able to work in a rapidly changing environment and able to provide quick turnaround times for solutions to new initiatives as well as solutions to problem. The Candidate will also need: • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field. • Strong communication, both oral and written, and interpersonal skills. • Strong analytical, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills are required for the timely resolution of complex issues. • Expertise in full life-cycle methodologies.
