Volt is currently seeking a manufacturing engineer to work onsite with our client in a contingent position expected to last approximately one year. Duties will include: Providing support and basic trouble shooting for assembly operations. Developing assembly processes and equipment for revised products. Establishing routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, and quality plans and for revisions of current product. Participating in make vs. buy decisions for client specific product and supports resourcing projects. Developing and modifying operator work instructions as required. Defining and implementing layout changes. Participating in PFMEA's and Control Plans. Requirements: 3+ years of manufacturing engineering and/or manufacturing operations - assembly experience. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing through formal Production Systems. Experience in one or more related engineering areas: industrial, production, methods, reliability, design, manufacturing, quality. Working knowledge of computer aided design and manufacturing tools; AutoCAD, Pro/E, VisMockup Desired Skills and Experience Understanding of the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP). Experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance, and visual management tools. Experience with project management and planning.
