Duration 2 months renewable Ontario Ministry experience a MUST have. Candidates should know the gating process inside out. Technology Architect, checkpoint 3<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Knowledge and Experience Requirements: • Information Warehouse technical architecture deliverables at logical and physical levels, including system functional requirement, logical/physical application design, logical/physical application deployment model, infrastructure component placement, infrastructure pattern match, quality level metrics, functional group - application component cross reference, supplementary specification, logical operating schedule and states, calendarized schedule, etc, within the overall enterprise architecture framework, aligned with (or traceable to) business, data, technology and security architecture domains and meet the requirements for checkpoint reviews and OPS standards • Reviews and feedbacks on logical/physical data model and logical/physical dimensional model • Presentation/summary reports related to application architecture design and checkpoint reviews • Detailed documentation conforming to Ministry standards including models, drawings, charts, system design documents and any other supporting material as required • Satisfactory and timely resolution of any technical and system problems, issues or concerns • Information Warehouse industry products and trend analysis, best practices, and RUSSB information warehouse solution enhancement strategic proposal • knowledge transfer and information sharing with peers and team members at all stages of this assignment, including planning for and delivering user friendly training and training material to all levels of users and stakeholders Required Skills and Knowledge • Solid skill in applying Zachman Framework, enterprise architecture methodology, architecture governance process including checkpoint reviews, data warehouse technical architectures, dimensional data modelling, ETL and business intelligence processes design • Proven skill in ETL, Multiple Dimensional Model and Business Intelligence technologies and experience in data warehouse technical architecture design in an IBM mainframe/Solaris context • General and working knowledge in security, privacy, business architecture (conceptual / contextual architecture), data modeling, business continuity and disaster recovery, and service management / operation support models. • Expertise in translating business architecture into logical and physical architecture and design • Ability to function effectively as a team member and work collaboratively in harmony with the rest of the team including project manager, lead architect, business analyst, data modeller, technical coordinator, system designer, lead developer, technology integrator and others • Excellent analytical, complex issues management, problem solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communications skills; interpersonal, consultation, facilitation, consensus building and negotiation skills • Proven track record of consistently producing results of the highest quality and standard while meeting strict deadlines and coordinating multiple tasks with competing priorities • Experience managing the expectations of a wide range of project stakeholders and target solution users, both from the business and from the IT side • Ability to focus on details while not losing sight of the big picture, and to explain complex business and technical information in simple terms • Proven expert level skills in modeling, design, prototyping of solutions in a large integrated multi-platform OLTP/OLAP environment • Demonstrated modeling experience with tools such as Power Designer or XML Spy, and with OO methodologies such as UML Desirable Skills: • Familiarity with Unified Project Methodology and project gating process • Knowledge of quality management processes and practices, methods, tools and techniques • Working knowledge of Information management, data and process modeling methodologies, tools and techniques, metadata structures, repository functions • Experience with the use of case tools, information retrieval packages, project management software, and business engineering software • Knowledge of Ontario Public Service policies, procedures and processes
