On behalf of our client, Procom Consultants Group is currently searching for a Database Engineer for a 6 month contract opportunity with the possibility of it turning into full-time. Below are some further details regarding the opportunity.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Responsibilities: · Establishes database management systems, standards, guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design, logical database, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading plan, data maintenance plan and security policy · Adapts business requirements and develops the object model, data, database specifications, and table and element attributes for an application · Documents and communicates database design · Participates in quality assurance and develops test application code in n-tier environment · Perform database performance tuning and optimization activities Qualifications: · Minimum of 5-8 years experience with database programming including triggers, stored procedures and complex SQL statements · Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008/2008R2, E/R Studio modeling tools, NHibernate ORM · Experience in writing high performance stored procedures for very large databases · Significant skill and experience in analysis and data modeling · Strong business and communication skills · Strong knowledge of analyzing and optimizing T-SQL code · Working knowled ge of storage subsystems and their direct impact of large relational database performance · Ability to be analytical and solve problems under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment · Great team player and knows to balance innovation and ongoing implementation work · Excellent design, coding, debugging, and servicing skills · .NET programming experience will be an asset · Experience with SSIS and ETL · Familiar with popular database tools from vendors such as Red Gate, Quest, Embarcadero and Idera. · Post secondary degree in Computer Science or related field of study PROCOM SERVICES A leading provider of IT services in North America, PROCOM and PROCOM SERVICES currently have more than 2800 consultants on assignment and place hundreds of people in permanent positions annually.
