The Role My client a major investment bank is looking for a mobile developer to work in their prestigious offices based in Glasgow. The arena is a fast-paced, results-driven environment, where demand for the team's services is high and the norm is concurrent exposure to multiple projects. Frequent and effective communication with project stakeholders and the developer community is an essential aspect of the role. As a pragmatic, proactive and keenly analytic developer you will contribute to the successful delivery of iPad apps targeted at both enterprise and external clients. To help drive efficiencies in app development and delivery you will have a direct impact on code libraries, frameworks, processes, strategies and documentation. This role will focus initially on iOS development, however tactical & strategic development in other mobile environments is likely. Essential Technical Skills Objective-C, Core Graphics, Core Animation, Foundation APIs. Xcode 4. UIKit, Interface Builder, Storyboarding, iPhone/iPad UI. Working knowledge of Automatic Reference Counting (ARC) and Manual Memory Management. Solid understanding of CocoaTouch patterns and best practices. Core Data/SQLite. Security/Encryption/Keychain access/Data Protection APIs. XML/JSON/WebService interaction with Objective-C. Solid network access experience from Objective-C with NSURLConnections. Good working knowledge of Instruments, profiling, leaks, static code analysis, crash report symbolication and analysis. Threading/Grand Central Dispatch (GCD). iOS Enterprise (and commercial Appstore) application creation and deployment. Experience of using iTunes Connect and iOS Provisioning Portal. Working knowledge of Local and Push Notifications. Problem solving and resolution. Experience in developing unit tests for application code. Ability to provide time estimates for work items. Version control and issue/bug tracking. Desirable Technical Skills Experience calling C++ libraries from Objective-C. Networking with ASIHTTP. Doxygen, HeaderDoc. Knowledge of Objective-C runtime. DTrace/Shark. Android development experience. HTML app development. Essential Background Excellent software engineering discipline. Proven track record developing mobile business solutions. Working understanding of Agile development practices. Strong communication and influencing skills. Analytical and problem solving skills. Appetite and drive for innovation. Desirable skills Server-side Development experience. Experience of working in globally distributed teams.
