Joomla HTTP Apache Authentication
Job Description Hi. I currently have a Joomla 1.7.1 website. I am trying to protect content on my site from being viewed. Only the "Special" user group can view them. I created a menu item, an iFrame wrapper with the "Special" access level. That works. However, I also want to protect the file from hotlinking or leeching (so I want to protect people from just going directly to the URL and downloading the files). Therefore, I created a .htaccess and a .htpasswd file enabling HTTP Apache authentication. However, when my Joomla users visit the "Special" menu item, I don't want the HTTP Apache authentication box to popup. I need some one to integrate my apache htpasswd file with Joomla users. So if the user is logged into Joomla (and is the Special access level), then the apache authentication box should NOT popup and let him view the file directly. However, if the user is NOT logged into Joomla, or does NOT have the Special access level, the apache authentication box should popup. Keywords: Web Programming, php, apache, joomla
