Job Description Filemaker Pro is a "desktop" database existing for more than 20 years, mainly supported by Apple, but also with some distribution in the Windows world. Filemaker is relational. Its big advantage is to allow for very fast development even sitting together with the client and making things work instentaneously. The drawback is a less secure and robust system compared with main SQL databases and their client front ends and its scripting language is "so so". Filemaker has its limitations. As a developer we do an inhouse development for a Filmaker Pro 11 database (see www.filemaker.com) and are using a Filemaker Pro server and several clients. The idea is rapid development in a small scale business. The businss is general contracting for building projects including all kinds of activities to manage building projects from receiving offers to selling building materials to managing time and writing invoices. The clients application language is German, but internal structures and database development can be done using English. - We are looking for well experienced Filemaker developer with the ability to also integrate Filemaker with a SQL databases (using native or ODBC interfaces) and web development using PHP. (We are developing the main parts in our own team, but we need a developer who can assist in time consuming tasks, brushing up user interfaces, helping with defining user rights, writing certain routines etc. We expect very good knowledge of Filemaker scripting and concepts, eventually also doing some PHP web integration work...There may also be the need for some ODBC development connecting Filemaker database with the outside source, a My SQL database. ) The database shall also be connected with tools made for the iPhone and run if in "Filemaker Go" and "Bento". This can be ongoing work... Some knowledge of German langauge would be of a big advantage, but it is not essential.
