Pressure Vessel Engineer
Project Overview: Nuclear industry Pressure Vessel Expert. A proven track record with extensive experience in the detailed design and analyses of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, etc, preferably within the nuclear industry. Skills and experience required: • MUST have a thorough working knowledge of ‘ASME III Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, Division 1’. • Experience in the use of French nuclear pressure vessel design code RCC-M would be advantageous. • Experience of proposal/bidding for large multi-discipline capital programmes would be advantageous • A working knowledge of the following non-nuclear pressure vessel codes is expected: ASME VIII, Divisions 1& 2 and BSEN13445. • Experience in detailed design and analysis MUST include: o Authoring design reports and design specifications, o Substantiating or verifying design or stress reports, o Design-by-Analyses using finite element software, o Hand calculations and Design-by-Rule formulae, o Seismic and fatigue design or analyses of pressure components. • Experience in the following is expected: o Heat treatment techniques, o Manufacturing techniques unique to pressure components, o Materials testing, o Authoring mechanical design specifications, o Inspection techniques such as radiography, NDT or NDE, o Welding procedures or specifications, o Legislation applicable to the design of nuclear and non-nuclear pressure vessels. The successful candidate will support the proposal/bidding programme, act as a professional mentor to lesser-experienced engineers and will take on the responsibilities of a consultant in the detailed design and analyses of pressure vessels.
