BBC are currently recruiting. 3 x Web Developers ( HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript ) We are hiring 3 Web Developers ( HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript ) for this area, these are on Fixed Term Contracts for between 6 - 12 Months BBC Future Media’s ambition is to create the most valued open digital media services in the world. About the Web Developers ( HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript ) role: We are looking for a talented Web Developers ( HTML, CSS, PHP ) to join, support and grow in experince with our team building and maintaining one of the world's most unique set of websites providing online BBC news and Olympics coverage in 27 languages. Our output includes desktop, mobile and innovative streams such as mobile and apps. This role would suit a professional with good front end presentational skills and who is looking to develop their skills further. Strong front end developement skills are essential , but a developer who is learning their trade ( PHP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML5 ) would be ideally suited to this contract role 1. To write world class HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP or other relevant code. 2. Daily liaison with the project managers, technical lead and design team to ensure the development of new features run smoothly. 3. Ensuring your work meets the technical standards for all BBC online output. 4. To keep up to date with new industry Skills and Experience required for this Web Developers ( HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript ) role: Ideally you will have Strong JavaScript programming skills with experience in writing client side scripting using JQuery and/or BBCGlow. A healthy interest in upcoming web standards, next generation of browser technology and creating intuitive, accessible user interfaces. Previous commercial use of HTML/CSS intermingled with presentation layer and an understanding of XML and grid layouts. With experience of building and structuring high performance websites you will understanding of cross-browser compatibility and progressive enhancement. Demonstrable experience of industry standard engineering tools and techniques - unit testing, documentation, and integration testing and version control.
