Release Manager/Implementation Project Manager
A Release Manager/Implementation Project Manager is required for an Investment Bank. The Release Manager/Implementation Manager must have experience within an Investment Bank, and have Long Term Contracts. Main Duties ¿ Define and manage the scope including a rigorous change request process ¿ Create and manage the overall project plan clearly identifying key milestones and dependencies ¿ Identify and manage all major issues and risks, identifying mitigating actions and impact on final delivery for each of these as they arise. ¿ Identify/anticipate obstacles and analyse and propose resolutions ¿ Understand impact of proposed changes on business areas and processes within Finance ¿ Work with the Inhouse service teams (Design, Build, Test, Data and Transition Support) to define their deliverables, key milestones and dependencies ¿ Manage deliverables on plan to agreed milestones, working to clearly defined final delivery date ¿ Senior stakeholder management within Programme and with end users (Product Control, Financial Control, Operations) providing transparency and expectation management ¿ Regular status reporting ensuring clear and consistent updates are provided on overall project status across all the workstreams ¿ Work with other IT teams impacted to determine extent of change required to support the implementations Person Requirements Qualifications/Education: Minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent Experience Required (Essential): *Proven project management and implementation experience within a large project or programme *Excellent business analysis skills *Strong client liaison and problem solving skills *Experience of managing phased projects and the full development lifecycle *Flexible and proactive work style *Proven ability to meet tight timelines *Successfully manages delivery on both long and short term deadlines Experience Required (Preferred): *Previous experience within a Finance related function in an Investment Bank *General accounting knowledge across a broad range of products *Knowledge of Financial Control and Product Control functions *Knowledge of investment banking front to back transaction lifecycle Skills and Knowledge Required: *Excellent communication, documentation and presentation skills and the ability to adjust message as required across all levels and functions *Strong organisation skills *Ability to use own initiative to resolve issues/ investigate and find solutions *Ability to assimilate information quickly and make informed decisions *Knowledge of MS Project *Formal Project Management / BA qualifications Candidate profile *Diligent and self motivated with a strong desire to learn *Excellent organisational skills *Goal focused, demonstrating tenacity and innovation when faced with challenges *Strong team player; someone who will make a contribution to areas outside their remit and appreciates the bigger programme picture *Constantly challenges the status quo; looks for more efficient ways of producing results *Used to working to both short and long term goals/deadlines
