The assignment is for 1 year. Job Description: This position will be involved in the characterization of HCV drug resistance for compounds at the preclinical stage. It will also involve monitoring the potential development of drug resistance to compounds in development. The set up and validation of new tools will also be part of the scope of the position. Degree/Work experience: BS/equivalent in molecular and/or cell biology with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience. Technical and analytical skills: -Good working knowledge of general Virology techniques -Basic molecular biology training (RNA/DNA extraction, RT-PCR, cloning, maxipreps, minipreps) -Cell biology (tissue culture, luciferase reporter assays, cell viability assays, determination of EC50 and CC50 measurements, serial dilution of compounds). -Must be proficient in DNA sequencing analysis (Sequencher, VNTI software). -Ability to analyze and report data independently in a clear and concise manner.
