My project is for an iPhone/Smart phone application for signed bands. Every thursday, all bands must send in a document called a "soundscan" to their label. This document states all the CD's they sold, and where they sold them. Every band on a label does this, including my band. It is still done on paper, and most bands fax them in every week. Some scan and email them. It gets expensive and if you forget to send them in, it hurts your band and label. It is a flawed system, so I wanted to make an app that makes it paperless, automatic, cheaper, and easier. Once someone downloads the app, they would need to upload a PDF of their soundscan document which would be imported to the app. Then it could be edited with an XML editor. So all the app really does is bring up a mobile version of their soundscan document, that they can edit on their phone, and have it forwarded to their labels email automatically. It would be a free app, with a monthly subscription.
