Systems Analyst, Bethesda MD Long term contract Overview of Positions Responsibilities: Primary responsibility is production systems support of on-property and above property international financial applications. In-scope applications include but are not limited to SunSystems and associated modules, custom add-ons (e.g. SavorPS), Hyperion Enterprise, and Micros-Fidelio Materials Control. Other responsibilities include evaluating and implementing new SunSystems versions and/or Marriott custom enhancements that align with the business requirements and the IR roadmap. Additionally, the candidate is responsible for ensuring our vendors provide timely, quality service to our customers, partners and vendors and serve as a point of escalation for all issues. Customers: International property DOFs International Area, Regional DOFs International finance and accounting MBS Partners: Systems Managers International above-property IR IRSS Enterprise Architecture Vendors: Infor PAS Deloitte Oracle Specific Responsibilities: Resolve application and technical issues escalated from our vendors or customers. Review vendor quotes and collaborate with our vendors to improve installation/upgrade services. Install and test server and application changes. Design or develop new systems and enhancements using the SDLC methodology. Develop Job-aids and communicate technical information to technical and non-technical teams/customers. Manage/create project work plans, update schedules and report progress against plans. Drive the scheduling, coordination and implementation of projects across multiple groups. Provide estimates of work effort for projects. Function as a technical resource for other team members. Train and/or mentor other team members, peers and clients as appropriate. Provide guidance for all technology related components in place to support the business. Ensure our systems comply with the appropriate policies. Collaborate with other departments to achieve goals. Facilitate meetings and communicate results to stakeholders. Specific Skills Required: Production support experience with financial applications (installation experience is a plus). Experience supporting Excel/VB applications is strongly desired. Working knowledge of SQL. Solid system testing skills and the ability to create test plans and document results. Strong analytical and problem solving skills; creative thinker. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills strong leadership skills, ability to initiate and drive projects. Strong attention to detail and the ability to review work of others. 5 - 7 years relevant work experience. Experience with SunSystems General Ledger and the Vision business intelligence suite. Experience with Visual Basic or other Object Oriented Programming languages. Experience working with customers and partners in a global business environment. Experience with Hyperion Enterprise. Ability to manage and implement technology solutions in multiple locations, across many countries, time zones, cultural and language differences.
