Eligibility: Non-Public Sector Employees May Apply The Supervisor, APY Social Work Team is a role within Families SA and is accountable to the Manager for: Contributing to the development of initiatives in partnership with DECD, SAPOL and Health and other key agencies which will result in improved outcomes, services, programs, policies and practices in relation to the safety of children, young people and families within their homes and communities; lead, develop and manage the performance of a designated Social Work Team; manage professional social work practice and standards; develop community capacity which will reduce social disadvantage within Aboriginal Community’s by facilitating the delivery of high quality culturally appropriate programs and services in consultation with community groups, their leaders and stakeholders in both the public and private sector; deliver services that are relevant, appropriate and accessible to a range of clients on the APY Lands. Essential Minimum Qualifications: A degree level qualification in Social Work leading to eligibility for (full) membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers. People of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, are eligible to apply. Special Conditions: Some out of hours work may be required. Interstate/Intrastate travel involving overnight absences may be required. Significant travel to the APY Lands will be required, including absences of several days at a time. Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a Background Screening and National Criminal History Record Check (NCHRC) prior to being employed and every three years. A current driver's licence and willingness to drive is essential.
