Redeployment/HR Manager
Reploydement/HR Manager- CIPD, TUPE, Employment Law High profile public sector role based in London requires a Redeployment/HR Manager for 6 months. The postholder will also take an active role in more general HR activities across the team, in particular contributing to policy reviews as required, and will be expected to play a full part in the work of a small team. The postholder will have a close working relationship with other senior members of the HR team, and with other support departments, business delivery units, trade unions and employment lawyers. Main Responsibilities: *Provide responsive and high quality support, guidance and advice to all parts of the organisation including senior managers to ensure appropriate employment relations management of redeployment and organisational merger (including TUPE and COSOP) situations. * Manage the people aspects of reorganisation and merger programmes ensuring redeployment and redundancy and/or mergers are completed within agreed timescales and budgets. This includes ensuring appropriate HR support mechanisms are in place for all staff affected. * Manage any appeals, litigation and Employment Tribunal cases arising from reorganisation and merger programmes. * Ensure HR policies and procedures on TUPE, COSOP and where appropriate, other legislation are consistent with those in other Government Departments. Responsible for maintaining and updating these policies (except for recruitment, where a co-ordinating role is required). * Contribute to more general HR work, in particular regular reviews of policy, benchmarking with other Departments and ensuring compliance with UK Employment Law and consulting with internal and external stakeholders, including trade unions, as appropriate. * Contribute to the on-going review of HR processes, benchmarking with other Departments and ensuring compliance with Civil Service HR. Experience: Essential- * Experience of handling the people, financial and legal aspects of restructures, mergers/outsourcing exercises and redundancies in a public sector, preferably a Civil Service, environment. * Track record of delivery in the areas of restructure, TUPE, mergers and redundancy, including working effectively with Trade Unions, senior management and other stakeholders. * Demonstrable expertise and experience in employee relations and other areas of HR policy. * A sound generalist HR background with experience of working as an HR Business Partner, particularly in the areas of employee relations and/or reward. Desirable- * Demonstrable experience of managing contentious people issues effectively, together with a high level of emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal and communication and influencing skills.
