Sr. Network Design Engineer 8 Months Contract to hire Cincinnati OH 45202 Job description: Ensures network availability to all users. Controls, tests and analyzes the status and performance of all components of network facilities. Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves problems of moderate scope and complexity. Assists senior level network engineers to analyze and provide innovative solutions to network engineering and design projects. Applies full understanding of WAN/LAN internetworking design elements including cost versus performance tradeoffs, protocol interoperability, network architecture development, and requirements for testing / proof of concept. Mentors other associates on network technology implementation. Typically, provides professional experience in the development of innovative and cost-effective solutions to problems or design of complex integrated data processing and communication solutions. Technical expertise utilized in areas such as marketing, business acquisition and/or client support. Provides significant direction in areas such as research studies, tradeoff analysis, operation studies, design reviews, and technical briefings. Makes decisions on operating procedures, analytical approaches, and workflow. This includes exposure and subsequent usage of requirements analysis, cost-benefit analysis, human interface engineering, security analysis, test engineering, and performance analysis. 8-10 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience. With direction, applies principles, theories, and concepts, as well as knowledge or related disciplines. Demonstrated basic proficiency in WAN/LAN internetworking including design elements including cost versus performance tradeoffs, protocol interoperability, network architecture development, and requirements for testing / proof of concept. Demonstrated advanced knowledge of platform operation systems (router, platforms, LAN, WAN, and router protocols) and how they interact with the network. Posses and demonstrates advanced skills in gathering requirements, performing analysis and work with senior network engineers on complex design solutions. Demonstrated advance skills and knowledge and adherence to Change Management processes. Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and oral: Ability to create and deliver presentations to peers and leaders. Demonstrated strong customer service skills; interfaces well with customers, end users, partners and associates. Completion of ITIL Awareness training. Additional skills per Associate�s IDP. All Analyst-level skills. Mentors other associates on network technology implementation. Cisco Certified Network Associate and Cisco Certified Design Associate or Cisco Certified Design Professional preferred. Education: Undergraduate degree and 4-6 years relevant experience or Graduate degree and 2-4 years relevant experience. The Network Senior Advisor supports the operations of a large customer healthcare network including responding to customer requests for service and for issue resolution. Position will also support internal requests for service. Position reports to Network Manager.
