Job Title: PeopleSoft Developer Location: Grand Rapids, MI Hours: Full-time (M-F, 8am - 5pm) Description: The individual selected for this position will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, supporting and documenting software, including purchased packages. The individual in this position may participate in all phases of the software development cycle. This will include small to large projects; software and hardware installation, integration and configuration; problem resolution and performance tuning. Responsibilities Designing, coding, testing, integrating, and implementing complex programs and packages Developing appropriate programs and systems documentation according to established IT standards. Developing real-time applications Conducting systems tests, monitoring results, and taking required corrective actions as needed Interfacing with customers to determine requirements and fixes Preparing detailed designs, specs, and test plans Providing technical consultation in new systems development, new package system evaluations, and enhancement of existing systems and participating in structured walk-through and technical reviews Taking a request completely through the business and technical design Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience and technical training is required Knowledge and experience in PeopleSoft Design/Tools Facility Knowledge and experience in PeopleSoft Query Tools Knowledge and experience in Mainframe and UNIX platforms Minimum of 4-6 years of technical experience in the skill areas listed above Hands-on experience coordinating systems development in established and new computing architectures and environments (e.g., client/server, Web); knowledge of relevant technology, tools, databases and middleware is critical Strong knowledge of business areas Knowledge and experience in developing and supporting large systems or many smaller systems Knowledge of design, programming and testing Understanding of and ability to program relational database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, and DB2 Excellent verbal and written communication skills Project management skills Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills OtterBase is dedicated to providing employee benefits that not only match industry standards, but exceed them.
