Great and Responsive client located in Lansing is in need of a Systems Engineer to join their team on a 90-day contract to hire position. Once permanent the role pays up to $98,000! The Systems Engineeris responsible for: The analysis, development, modification, installation, testing and maintenance of systems software and hardware. Evaluation and recommendation of vendor supplied software packages based on capabilities, redundancy, monitoring, maintenance, and scalability. Day to Day activities may include: Modifications, installs and preparation technical documentation for network, storage, and system software applications. Diagnoses, isolates and de-bugs software problems and performs problem resolution. Requirements Five or more years of direct experience providing support for information technology systems Bachelor's degree required MCP or certification in related field Five (5) or more years of experience with LAN and WAN protocols and technologies including Ethernet copper and fiber, wireless, T1, DS3, Metro-E, TCP/IP, VPN and Firewalls Five or more years experience supporting Microsoft products including Windows 2008 Server, Windows XP-7, Exchange 2003-2010, SQL 2005-2008, Active Directory, and IIS. Three (3) or more years experience supporting VMware Vsphere in a high availability configuration utilizing SRM to provide failover Create and maintain scripts and other programs to improve in the efficiency of software development Three (3) or more years experience working with SAN based technologies and protocols ie EMC, Fujitsu, Netapp, Compellent, iSCSI, and Fiberchannel.
