Our client, a leading global financial services company, has approximately 200 million customer accounts and does business in more than 140 countries. They provide consumers, corporations, governments and institutions with financial products and services, including consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, transaction services, and wealth management. They are not looking for someone who is Purely functional- MUST have back office Operations exp COMMUNICATION MUST BE 10/10 as they will be working closely with the business Wants someone from a technology background Must have strong database skill BO reporting is a plus Introduction: Operations Control & Cross-Function Technology aims to provide innovative, efficient and robust Operations Control Technology service with a constant eye for operational control, functional synergies and re-engineering opportunities. We achieve this by Automating the process by direct data acquisition from various Settlement, Reconciliation & Finance systems, run by dynamic business rules, perform complex transformations, assign accountability & ownership, enrich with firm standard golden reference data, collate commentary from key users and report via the Automated reports, dashboards & a bevy of rich analytical tools. Position: Business Data Analyst Business data analyst would be responsible for working with diverse functional groups under Operation Control and Operation Technology assisting business sponsors in the specification of a system’s data requirements, understanding whether the underlying data of the firm can support the reporting requirement. The person in this role will be also help in preparation of appropriate documentation including business requirements and program specifications/mappings. They will interact with technical and support teams to assist in prototyping, design and planning of test cases. Skills: - 8+ Years of financial industry background (preferably in Operations Technology) is mandatory - Person should have knowledge of Capital Markets Operation Areas, financial positions, transactions processing - Knowledge of back-office operations and trade processing; familiarity with a wide range of financial instruments; such as stocks, options, mutual funds, fixed income and MIS - 5+ yrs of strong experience with Oracle 9i and/or 10g - Knowledge of data warehousing and data marts and strong expertise in querying database using SQL - Must have proven analytical skills, demonstrated capability of distilling details from complex business requirements into accurate and precisely specified functional, technical specifications and use cases capable of interpretation by both technical and non-technical readers. - Must have the ability to maintain deliverables to schedule, ability to adapt to changes in requirements and priorities, be a self starter, show initiative, ability to work on multiple projects at the same time prioritizing as appropriate. - Played coordination role with business users, internal and external application development teams, DBA, data warehouse and Q/A groups. - Experience interacting with business users and collecting the reporting requirements - Ability to facilitate JAD sessions, develop process and data flow diagrams in Visio - Advanced level knowledge of using Excel for data analysis - Experience reporting on dimensions and hierarchy data - Some knowledge of Business Objects Reporting would be a plus - Good background working with quantitative data 20822 Please see our complete list of jobs at: www.rmscorp.com
