We are seeking a NetApp Certified Storage Architect for our growing Professional Services team. In this role, you will supplement the customer IT staff and work either onsite or remotely, at the direction of the customer. Storage Architects will team with NetApp account teams and customers to understand customer requirements, scope appropriate services, and deliver service projects. Service projects include various aspects of storage planning/architecting, storage management, installations, implementation, optimization, and on-going customer support processes. Essential Functions: The essential functions for a Storage Architect will be to assist the customer with service level management duties related to the NetApp storage infrastructure. ITIL processes such as Change Management, Release Management, and Knowledge Management are key interaction points with the customer's staff. In addition, the Storage Architect may assume part of the day-to-day operational responsibility for a customer's storage environment (including SANs, network-attached storage [NAS], and tape libraries). These services may include systems operation or support, capacity planning, asset management, availability management, performance management, administration, security, remote monitoring, technical diagnostics/troubleshooting, system repair management and generation of management reports. Storage on demand services (the storage utility) and backup and recovery services also fall into this category when some degree of management is included in the service. The Storage Architect will collaborate with the Customer's staff and the local Professional Services team in order to assist NetApp customers through on-site support including: * Onsite system monitoring * Preventive maintenance * Managing Repairs * Software Installation * Firmware updates * Managing Upgrades * Managing Hardware installation * Provisioning * Assisting in the development of Replication strategy and managing replication * Assisting in the development of D2D backups and managing backups * Storage Availability Health Checks * Research and advise on customer storage issues * Review processes, procedures, and infrastructure and implement best practices * Change Management and Release Management roles * Assist with Data Center Operations as required: Provisioning, Replication, D2D backups * Installation and configuration of NetApp hardware and software products * Requirements analysis including gathering technical details regarding customer's environment * Implementation of backup and restore, disaster recovery, storage consolidation, data protection, storage performance, etc. * Optimization including upgrades, performance monitoring and system audit tasks * Customer support including troubleshooting and problem resolution * Technical leadership in providing mentoring and guidance to other technical team members * NetApp best practices implementation within customer environment * Knowledge transfer for customer operations staff Additionally, due to the nature of this engagement, the Storage Architect will be expected to accommodate a variety of work schedules and will be responsible for the successful management of the customer NetApp environment, including the opening, management, and closing of Help Desk tickets with all applicable support entities. Technical Requirements: It is critical for this individual to have a high degree of technical proficiency and to understand the customers' business requirements in order to relate these requirements to a proposed technical solution.
