Mechanical Engineer Peoria, IL AVA Consulting is seeking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Peoria, IL Job Responsibilities: This individual will be responsible for providing engineering and related services to clients in support of Mechanical Engineering projects. The individual will take projects from the conceptual stage through production. They will participate in engaging, managing and/or delivering engineering services including drafting/modeling, design, testing, and analysis. Individual will need to be self driven and manage their workload. Timely, thorough, and accurate completion of engineering services projects is required. This individual will coordinate design efforts with on-site as well as off-site engineers to provide cost effective, reliable and manufacturable designs in a timely manner, which supports all production schedules. Excellent “hands-on” experience is key." Required Skills: - Understands and applies principles, concepts, theories, technologies and standards of the Product Engineering Field. - Knowledge of related industry considerations. - Ability to work under general direction. - Ability to apply knowledge and understanding of customer needs to the solution. - Mechanical Aptitude for interpretation of mechanical drawing specifications. - Working knowledge of Pro/Engineer or comparable 3D CAD design software - Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing-driven design issues. - Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Desired Skills: - 2-4 years of experience working in a Product Development Environment - Analysis experience (FEA or Pro/Mechanica) - 2-4 years of experience with powertrains, frame assemblies, heavy weldments, and large castings - Excellent communication skills - both written & verbal - Excellent “hands-on” experience.
