We currently have an opening with our customer for the following type of individual: SENIOR DESKTOP ENGINEER – WINDOWS 7 DEPLOYMENT POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Review existing hardware specifications and identify requirements for upgrades to Windows 7 Review XP based software inventory and identify compatibility issues with Windows 7 Participate in detailed virtualization analysis Review current imaging process and make process improvement recommendations based on industry best practices Assist in formulating & implementing procedures to improve service levels Test new desktop software and package software for automated distribution with Altiris and WYSE WDM Test, review, implement, and assure compliance of Microsoft Patch Management Review group policies related to PC management/configuration Assist with global full disk encryption deployment Required Skills Altiris Notification Server and Deployment Server 6/7 Strong technical and problem solving skills Specialized skills and knowledge in areas of Microsoft Operating Systems as well as Office suite of applications Well-developed communication, organizational, and customer relations skills The ability to work independently and in a team environment Project management experience Preferred Skills Microsoft SQL knowledge WYSE WDM thin client management McAfee Endpoint Encryption a plus Macintosh OS experience a plus
