Volunteer- Stroke Ambassador
The Stroke Association strives for a world where there are fewer strokes and all those touched by stroke get the help they need. Stroke Association Ambassadors are needed across the UK to raise awareness and increase support for the Stroke Association within their community – to represent The Stroke Association at a local level. This role could include delivering informal talks and presentations to local organisations in particular Rotary, community groups and other local bodies; attending cheque presentations on behalf of The Stroke Association and/or supporting local community events including fundraising activity and/or Know Your Blood Pressure events. What skills and experiences are desirable? The confidence to speak to and build rapport with a range of audiences Great communication skills Engaging and friendly Enthusiasm for The Stroke Association and what we do is really important Previous experience of public speaking (not essential) What support and training will be provided? Of course, training and support is given to all of our volunteers. We want to ensure that you feel confident and happy to go out into the community as a representative of our charity. You will also receive regular and ongoing support from a member of staff local to you. Are there any benefits?
