Application Analyst & Architect Alexandria,VA Contract-to-hire position Job Summary: Responsible for the roadmap, architecting, development, and support of enterprise applications, primarily Salesforce.com. Primary application analyst to liaise between business users and IT providers and developers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Development: Documents corporate wide business requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, and workflows – analyzes current state, makes recommendations, and re-engineers procedures. Interfaces with business units (Finance/Accounting, Revenue, Member Services, Sales, Ecommerce, Marketing, Supplier Relations, Training) to collect and codify requirements for: Modifications to current processes/workflows that will bear internal system/application impact based on changes to business New applications and application enhancements required to support changing business needs Converts business requirements to design specifications, including application architecture. Manages and prioritizes in house developer’s workload based on highest business value to Vacation.com. Manages 3rd party software vendors (Salesforce) and developers. Identifies systems, data, and process synergies across multiple business units to drive costs savings and efficiencies. Responsible for QA of software solutions and directs test efforts. Conducts end user training. Operations/Administration: Troubleshoots internal application (Salesforce.com, DBAmp) breakage and data workflow production issues to identify root cause and return to steady state withinSLA. Directs data cleansing activities. Supports data reconciliation and adjustment via backend, load routines which eliminate manual updating and errors. Applications: Salesforce administrator Power user in DBAmp, Bugzilla. Business Intelligence tools. Project Management: Project planning and management skills. Conducts Joint Application Design sessions. Responsible for test management. Owns project documentation. Education, Knowledge and Skills: B.S. in technology, statistics, or a hard business domain Minimum 5 years experience in IT Project Management and software development Minimum 3 years Salesforce administration and project implementations including custom object & app development, user transition and training, and data migration. Minimum 3 years experience with CRM applications, particularly Salesforce administration, configuration and data integration Experience with BI applications and data structures Proven experience in homegrown application development, off the shelf software, and SaaS Able to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines Ability to translate complex business scenarios into automated processes and business applications Skilled in data file transfer protocols and integrity checking In-depth and wide breadth understanding of enterprise applications (financial, reporting, CRM) Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization and correctly identify the internal client’s needs Ability to talk business and IT Facility for translating business scenarios into automated processes and applications
