Here are specific responsibilities for the cost accountant: Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs Maintains the standard costing of the periodic inventory system Evaluates and reports on cost variances for each product line Maintains accurate standard costs for manufacturing and purchasing functions Assist senior cost accountant to Prepare monthly cost figures by analyzing material, labor, overhead Assist senior cost accountant to prepare Monthly reporting of variances and analysis of Overhead, Labor, and Material variances Financial Analysis and reporting as required Special projects as assigned and/or required by the senior cost accountant Qualifications and Requirements 1-2 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment Strong record of experience with Great Plains ERP Experience with implementation and/or set-up of standard costing Strong communication and analytical skills Proficient in Microsoft Office products Ability to analyze and interpret financial data Educational Requirements BA/BS in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience Manpower is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE/AA)
