Flexion is in need of a Windows Systems Administrator for a long-term consulting position in the Atlanta area. This is scheduled to be a five year project with the possibility of extension. Duties of this position will include: Perform software installation of operating systems, RDBMSs, COTS and in house developed software for mission critical and consolidated web and database systems. Apply functional and security updates to OS and systems infrastructure applications, including Windows, SQL Server, IIS, VMware Provide technical support, troubleshoot software and hardware problems. Deploy infrastructure and application level software changes Conduct hardware installations, upgrades, and replacements. Keep all hardware and firmware at current revisions except where a deviation has been approved. Schedule, automate, execute and monitor job and system performance Coordinate with operational and functional DBA’s and the shared infrastructure group on database operations, hardware architecture, and security Familiarity with some/all the following technologies is a plus for this position: Microsoft Server 2003 and 2008r2 Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008 Enterprise Storage Area Networks Veritas Cluster Server Microsoft Server 2008 Clustering Microsoft Hyper_V Server 2008 VMWare Enterprise ESX hosts Microsoft SCOM Competitive Compensation and benefit package is available for this position.
