Firmware Engineer
Firmware Engineer Milpitas, CA This individual will be responsible for firmware development on new and existing transmission products. * This individual will design and code control algorithms for opto-electronic components, interface software and device drivers. * This individual will be expected to perform software archiving, documentation and perform engineering verification test. * This individual will be expected to work in a diversified team environment and fast product development cycle. * This individual will be responsible for product release to production. Job Details: * This position is in 40G/100G tunable transponder development group. * This individual will generate FW test plan per product requirement * This individual will develop automatic SW which executed on a Windows/PC platform and written in “C++” or “C#” to perform systematic/regressive firmware verification test. * This individual will be expected to work in a diversified team environment and fast product development cycle. Required Qualification * BS required. MS desired. EE or CS required. * Proven track record of developing detailed and thorough test plans and implementing well structured test code that follows a test plan and generates a detailed report of the pass/fail status of the products functionality * Familiarity with optical communication products, test equipment and associated communication/control interface * Familiarity with the CFP MDIO spec is a big plus. * Team player able to work in a multi-disciplined team. * Knowledge of transponder and tunable laser desirable.
