Job Description The BI Database Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of current and new BI systems and data architecture. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert on data mining and interpretation. You have the opportunity to show your skills while ensuring both the data models and metadata support optimized data access, delivery, and insights across the business. You will be responsible for -All areas of reporting database management including schema design, meta tables, and ETL strategy for new data sources all resulting in data mining/tool performance optimization. -Data Extraction and Query - Serve as lead SQL data mining expert. -Create complex and accurate data pulls in minimal time. -Report and Dashboard development - Build and manage supporting data tables, functions, and views to support new scorecard/dashboard requests. -System Administration - Act as point of contact and key contributor for reporting tool access, network connectivity, and security permission management. -Documentation - Create and document database design and data dictionary. -Technology Advancement- Contribute to the technology advancement and capabilities of the team. Your background -Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience -10+ years of experience -Extensive experience in data architecture and business analytics development -Extensive skills in data modeling; logical, physical and dimensional modeling -Extensive experience in metadata management and master data management -Successful experience working on complex data flow and processing with large transactional and reporting databases -Hands-on design and development experience with leading BI tools -5+ years experience with SSRS architecture and systems/network administration -5+ years experience with SSRS reporting and development -5+ year experience with reporting databases (SQL, Stored Procedures, Query Optimization) -Implementation and development experience with ETL concepts and tools such as SSIS -5+ years of MS SQL 2005/2008 Server with SSAS, SSRS and SSIS -5+ years T-SQL -Experience gathering requirements and collaborating with multiple business stakeholders
