Our client, a leading financial services firm is seeking an experienced C++/Unix Consultant to join the team tasked with building a next generation, market data visualization system which is deployed on a global scale. The system includes various applications including, but not limited to, a real-time function that tracks the intraday movement of securities and applications that allow users to plot several years of historical data at once. This is a 12 month + contract located in NY and opportunities exist for individual contributors as well as technical leads. Required: 3 years of software development experience in C/C++ 3 years of experience with Unix software development Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms Experience with GTK is a plus but not necessary Beneficial but not necessary: Modular design, design patterns, pioneering testing techniques, and debugging Beneficial but not necessary: Resource contention and deadlock, mutual exclusion and synchronization
