Support Engineer Princeton , NJ   Position Summary: The Application Support Engineer provides first tier technical support to Client Support Staff and Payment Operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring that the eCommerce payments platform maintains its outstanding service levels and standards of operational excellence. Position responsibilities include issue problem resolution and issue escalation, as appropriate to assist with resolution of the issue.   Essential Functions: ·          Responds to incoming requests for support via the Issue Management System. This process includes requesting the necessary data, screenshots, and customer comments required to identify issues, performing diagnostic procedures through analysis of source code, crash dumps and stack traces and implementing initial issue triage using the appropriate change management process. ·          Provide 1st tier support to ensure rapid response and quick resolution of service interruptions, escalating as needed. ·          Performs and verifies complex database updates, software fixes, and internal projects aimed at enhancing software application quality and performance. ·          Assists with creating production support documentation materials for use in-house or by our customers is also required. ·          Runs ad hoc reports for business clients.     Requirements Qualifications: ·          Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience ·          5-7 years experience ·          Minimum 2 years experience providing applications-related customer support in a help desk environment, and supporting application using J2EE, Java and Oracle.     Required Skills: ·          Oracle/SQL Development ·          Strong knowledge of: Oracle / Database Skills (Stored Procedures, PL/SQL, etc.), shell scripting. ·          Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. ·          Demonstrate the ability to thoroughly analyze new and unique problems that invariably occur in a complex technical environment. ·          Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and concisely. ·          Excellent organizational and time management skills with a careful attention to detail. ·          Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.     Desired Skills: Java.
