Currently we have a "Monitoring Tools Architect - Analyst" position at one of our client locations. Description Responsible for system support including design, development and modifications of complex computer systems monitoring applications. Work as part of a team in the Enterprise Operations Management space to provide application monitoring services to the enterprise, instrumenting infrastructure, key business transactions and data centers to improve application performance and diagnostic capabilities. Work involves a considerable amount of creativity, perception and initiative in making decisions as well as a high level of independent judgment. # Analyzes existing monitoring methods employed by application teams, advising and assisting in the deployment of application monitoring # Translate operational and business requirements into technical requirements supporting the customer objectives # Leads collaboration of users in a multi-supplier command center to implement common tools and processes # Assists in proposals for new monitoring requirements including contacts with vendors # Develops cost, time and manpower requirements for deploying new tools and for on-boarding new applications # Develops plan for utilization of existing hardware and software within the framework of new or modified systems design # Plan, build, schedule and coordinate software release packages # Provide regular project status updates to executive management # Regular contact with others outside the work group # Keeps abreast of current developments and trends in areas of expertise including technology, standards and best practices # Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project # Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions Qualifications > ITIL Certification > Knowledge of several COTS packages for application and infrastructure monitoring used locally, e.g. OpenView, SiteScope, Patrol, Tivoli > Knowledge of one or more major Service Management packages (BMC, HP, IBM or CA) > Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required > Minimum of two years experience in program management (managing multiple sub-projects) > Minimum of two years experience in IT Operations > Minimum of two years experience in sustain, development, architecture and/or technical support > High level oral and written communication skills > High level of sound logic and analytical ability > Attentiveness to detail and precision > Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with global business partners to meet mutual goals required Education and Training # College degree with a major in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other technical discipline Please contact recruiter at 248 675 1200 ext. 406.
