Overall Responsibilities This position will participate in developing components for a Policy Administration System including related system integrations. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter and a team player capable of working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Insurance knowledge would be a plus. Key Accountabilities • Develop components (using JAVA) for the Policy Administration system • Learn the Java development environment/methodology • Learn the relevant systems components within the Policy Admin System • Ability to take a project from specifications to delivery • Some travel may be involved ,'" 5-10% Experience Required: • Experience with JAVA programming language • Understanding of J2EE Standards and Object Oriented programming • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with SDLC project management • Basic P& C Insurance Knowledge • Ability to work in a fast paced team environment • Ability to work independently. • Ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies and systems • Excellent communication skills • Understanding of relational databases and SQL experience Preferred: • WebSphere Application Developer/ Rational Application Developer IDE experience • WebSphere Administration experience • XML experience • IBM DB2 Education • College Degree ,'" Computer Science, MIS or related
