A very established medical group is seeking to add a full-time   EXPERIENCED   MEDICAL BILLER CODER, CPC / CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL CODER to its staff.   * Surgical experience is not required but is a  plus .  * LOCATED  in the center of New York State, the city of Syracuse (Population 156k city and county 467k) is in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region which includes many Resorts, Casinos, and close to Lake Ontario, Lake Oneida, the St. Lawrence River, the Adirondack Mountains and the Thousand Islands. Forbes Magazine (June 2010) ranked SYRACUSE, NY fourth (4TH) in the U.S. as the FAMILY FRIENDLIEST cities based on inexpensive housing (homes and apartments), easy commutes (extensive highway system), low crime and great schools. * COMPENSATION ranges from $34k+ annually BOE. * JOB TYPE is Temporary, Full-time. * WORK SCHEDULE :  Monday through Friday only. Eight hour shifts, including one-half hour unpaid lunch, 8:00am to 4:30pm. * EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:   A minimum of two (2) years current coding and manual charge entry experience is required. High school diploma or equivalent. Must have CPC. * JOB DESCRIPTION: (including, but not limited to): * Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills with patients, providers and insurance companies. * Responsible for reviewing operative reports and coding procedures. * Manually enter surgical charges and file appeals. * Properly identify procedure/surgery and diagnosis codes. * Denials follow-up. * Daily charge entries. * BENEFITS: Health insurance is available at employee’s expense on a temporary basis.
