We have a long-term contract opportunity available for a GIS Mapping Services Developer. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of ArcGIS Server application instances for the Mapping Services team of a Fortune 50 company. Responsible for developing mapping applications, web-based map services and system and application support administration of the mapping services applications and the environment. The objective is to create and maintain mapping services that are intuitive, visually appealing and properly tuned to perform well in the server environment and on the web. This position requires a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the following areas of ESRI: ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Desktop, ArcIMS, ArcSDE and ArcGIS Online. Ability to develop ArcGIS Geo-processing tasks, preferably using Python, also required. Experience with the ESRI JavaScript API for ArcGIS Server and ESRI ArcGIS Server REST API needed. Development and Optimization of Map Service Documents (.MSD files) required. Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems is required. Strong Cartography skills are needed. Experience or knowledge in Python or other scripting languages, and DB2 Spatial Extender is preferred. To be successful in this position you must possess a strong understanding of coordinate systems and various map projections and should be able to create and maintain map services for ArcGIS Server. The ability to work with and convert a variety of data sources, including but not limited to, ArcSDE Feature Classes, shapefiles, .kml files, .kmz files, and .csv files is needed. Above-average organizational skills and a desire to drive for results are a must.
