Technical writer/Documentation Specialist

There will be a website created on Sharepoint. There will be a 6 month contract that involves creating and gathering of the documentation. Features: -IT Ops background a plus -Disaster Recovery Experience a plus -Sharepoint Documentation Exp a plus The Technical Writer is responsible for the facilitation and creation of required documentation. Our initial effort includes the creation, modification, or rebranding of over 100 documents of varying types and complexity. The writer will be required to: * Work with subject matter experts to "translate", write, revise, compile, and edit content for various experience level users/audiences * Adhere to format, content, and style guidelines, giving consideration to usability and ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality * Report status and raise issues or roadblocks * Research and find content when necessary * Ensure content is professional, grammatical, uses consistent syntax, and follows client’s branding and style guidelines * Aptitude for learning new technologies and/or processes quickly. * Proven self-starter Able to cope with fast-paced and changing environments * Proficiency in Office 2010, Visio, SharePoint, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat * IT, Operations, or Security background preferred * Proven project and time management experience * Ability to communicate with all levels of staff, vendors, and leadership * Minimum 1 year experience in technical writing or documentation * BA/BS in applicable discipline or equivalent experience
