EAM Systems Engineers Functional - Linux
Working as a member of a larger development and implementation team, participate in all aspects of deploying custom Maximo-based work and asset management solutions. The solutions include Maximo Core and Mobile applications. Responsibilities include base data collection and analysis, cleansing and loading, training, deploying and support of both Core and Mobile functionality. Will also provide Maximo and work and asset management subject matter expertise to other projects as required. Other responsibilities include monitoring system utilization, tracking defects or enhancement opportunities (continuous improvement) and integrating closely with back-office support, development and reporting teams. Heavy documentation and system / database reporting duties. Duties also encompass sustaining currently deployed work and asset management solutions at Amtrak, which includes identification and resolution of issues, training field users, and assistance in testing system modifications as well as maintaining an open line of communication between field forces and Maximo development teams. Select individuals will be responsible for gathering user requirements and authoring formal Requirements Documents, Design Specifications, and Test Scripts. While the positions are to support specific projects, the selected candidates will be a member of a cross-discipline Maximo development team and will help shape the vision of Maximo across the Amtrak Enterprise. Experience / Skill Sets At a minimum, candidates must possess: Two (2) plus years current experience implementing / operating Maximo, version 7.x EAM application experience concentrating in Work Management, PMs, Job Plans, Assets, Locations, and Classifications Experience with using and deploying mobile applications and related technology Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work well in a team environment interacting effectively with all levels of staff from line workers to upper management Proven documentation skills with the ability to create high-quality and complete project documents and communications MS Office skills a must Experience training large and small groups who possess little computer/technology skills Preference will be given to individuals with: Railroad Operations field experience BS degree Project management experience Calibration / Metrology experience Base Location / Travel / Term of Engagement Home based in Wilmington, DE Travel along the North East Corridor (Boston to Washington DC) up to 90% After successful completion of six (6) week evaluation period, term of engagement expected to be at least one (1) year with high probability of extension Desired Skills: Linux Keywords: Software Application, Linux
