Technical Business Analyst, Project Management Office
This position is located in the Project Management Office within the IT department. The Business Analyst will be assigned to the Desktop Modernization Project. The Desktop Modernization Project is refresh of all BPA supplied desktop current XP/Office 2003 with Win7/Office 2010 desktops via replacement of thick client or delivery via thin client VDI sessions. The IT department will roll out Windows 7, Office 2010, and upgrade desktop computers during 2011 and 2012. This position is responsible for providing on-call and backup support for existing systems and functions. The Business Analyst will perform interviews and research to determine IT business requirements and translate them into specifications for complex technical projects. They will analyze, facilitate, model and organize information in order to elicit requirements, reconcile conflicts, and distinguish solution ideas from business needs. Position Requirements: 10+ years of Experience in Computer Technology or related field Undergraduate College Degree in Computer Technology or related field 10 years of demonstrated analyst experience using modeling languages, technical product life cycle concepts and requirements engineering, among other applied skills and knowledge. 10 years experience developing and documenting on Programs/Projects involving a combination of process improvements surrounding software licensing, desktop provisioning via thick clients or thin utilizing VDI technologies, with emphasis on the following: * IT VDI server and/or client infrastructure. * Familiar with application sequencing, packaging and streaming to create virtual desktop presentation. * The Desktop modernization project is refresh of all company supplied desktop current XP/Office 2003 with Win7/Office 2010 desktops via replacement of thick client or delivery via thin client VDI sessions. Company's IT department will roll out Windows 7, Office 2010, and upgrade desktop computers during 2011 and 2012. Broad knowledge of systems infrastructure, architecture dependencies and requirements. Ability to effectively communicate with highly technical people and lead requirements definition and requirements workshops. Apply infrastructure knowledge of systems and applications requirements in order to gather and develop a repository of requirements detail. Analyze and distribute requirements detail in a useful manner to project core team and technical leads. Experience working in a data center or other IT environment is highly desirable. Knowledge of and skill in applying: Business analysis and implementation of large IT desktop refresh projects Emphasis on IT VDI server and/or client infrastructure. Familiar with application sequencing, packaging and streaming to create virtual desktop presentation. Technical interviewing skills in the Information Technology environment Communication skills including facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution Writing skills and the ability to present information in various forms such as textual, graphical and statistical Modeling of requirements, verification of deliverables Requirements Engineering and software development life cycles Familiarity with the IEEE Software Development standards or equivalent Ability to develop canonical attribution and perform normalization of concepts.
