We would like your experience to have some mechanical engineering and some electrical expertise. Experience with laboratory instruments would be a definite plus! Chromatography background HPLC To work on our fluidic systems and contribute to mechanical design, electrical layout, wiring, plumbing (micro plumbing) and hand-on laboratory work running samples. To design cost effective and reliable components and systems as part of the development of the company's Instruments range of Separations Products. To provide sustaining engineering support for existing products. RESPONSIBILITIES • Prototype development, building, testing, evaluation to support NPI project activities, across Separation (SEC/GPC/FFF) technologies. • Providing test reports (eg. Alpha test) to capture results of tests undertaken. • To use tools (eg. Excel) as necessary to analyse data or provide graphing / trending for use in reports • To ensure design information and test measurements are captured using logbooks or lodged within company information systems as per the company BMS. • Participation in team reviews. • To work within the company BMS and Health & Safety policy • Provide CAD engineering drawings for prototype development. • To provide the Physics, Chemical Engineering and/or Mathematical contribution to the design of Instrument systems specifically in the field size exclusion technology for multi-detector systems for the purpose of macromolecular characterization. • SEC system and detector performance and troubleshooting. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED OF THE JOB HOLDER Education Minimum “A" levels or equivalent in physics chemistry or general science / engineering.
