Within the IT Organization, the Advanced Strategic Technologies Technical Analyst bears primary responsibility for the analysis and design of enterprise integration projects. The Advanced Strategic Technologies Technical Analyst facilitates technical communications among middleware developers, business stakeholders, and the technical staff responsible for all application systems being integrated with new tools. The Analyst ensures technical designs comply with applicable architecture standards and designs are functionally and technically feasible. This individual performs as an expert technical and industry resource in all phases of medical device integration (MDI), including architecture, work flow and solution alternatives, within the Care Delivery BIO - Medical Device Integration department. The role ensures that solution designs meet agreed upon requirements and milestones. The role evaluates the technical, clinical, and architectural implications of medical device integration, performs a consulting role for enterprise MDI questions, ensures the technical aspects of MDI projects are in line with the enterprise strategy, architects solutions of complex scope where analysis of data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Projects assigned are broad in scope and may involve multiple functional areas spanning multiple service areas. The solution consultant is responsible for Project Management Office required documentation and for obtaining the appropriate approvals. Additionally, the role may provide specific guidance to others on complex MDI issues. Additional Functions: * Analyze architectural and technical solutions, in the area of medical device integration, and provide project documentation including logical and physical design * Capture business and technical requirements from the project stake holders and document requirements * Work with the project manager to develop plans for implementing technical solutions The successful Advanced Strategic Technologies Technical Analyst will meet the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): * 10 years of experience in healthcare informatics, including initial planning, design, installation, and operational support * B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other related field * Full project lifecycle experience * Skilled in performing detailed interface analysis and design * Extensive experience in assessing technology needs and evaluating solution options * Strong customer focus with excellent communication and collaborative work skills * Good verbal and written communication skills Preferred Requirements: * Experience in Health Care Industry preferred * Experience in EPIC application suite a plus * Experience developing Requests for Proposals (RFP) * Excellent technical analysis skills and the ability to assess vendor provided solutions * Knowledge of HL7 interfaces * Knowledge of project lifecycle including planning, design, and implementation * Potential to convert to a full time position
